Winter 2015

Posted on May 7, 2015 by Peggy Offenberger

With quiet gesture

The snow sprawls

Like a dioramic

On city streets.

It is immune

To the chill greeting

Of passers-by

Weary of its banal redundancy.

It snows all day

It snows all night

It snows all day

It snows all night

It snows all day

It snows all night

Drifts like purist alabaster

Transform to

Black dunes of soot

And grime.

The theme repeats endlessly.

When will Spring

Flesh out a better season?

MEDITATION

Wandering off the beaten path

I came upon a gallery of peonies

Kneeling beneath

An imperial waterfall.

The holy preacher of majesty

Together with the delicate

Fragrance of the flora

A meditation on

The redemptive energy

Of nature.
