Since 1913, The Women’s Club of Forest Hills has united local women through friendship, philanthropy, and community involvement—continuing a proud 110-year tradition of connection and service. Learn more about our history and mission below.
Since its inception in 1913, The Women’s Club of Forest Hills has been an active and integral part of this Queens community. The Community House, at 15 Borage Place in Forest Hills Gardens, has been the home of the club since 1923. A member of the Long Island Federation of Women’s Clubs, we are a group of some 300 women from the Forest Hills area, interested in social, artistic, intellectual, and philanthropic pursuits. With our 15 active Chapters, in addition to numerous Committees, we ensure that the women of the organization enjoy the opportunity to share their many talents and skills, while reaping the benefits for themselves and the community at large.
A general meeting, open to our entire membership, is held the first Monday of each month from October through May. The Chapters meet at various times, i.e. weekly, monthly or bi-monthly.
Members are welcome to join as many Chapters that appeal to their interests, or simply attend our monthly general meetings, luncheons, club sponsored lectures and trips. Our Evening Chapter has a variety of activities catering to those members who are in the business world or are stay-at-home Moms. Whether you are interested in our philanthropic activities, community affairs, artistic pursuits, languages, gardening, musical performances, books, movies, bridge, creative writing, group meditation, or just socializing with your fellow members, we have a group for you!
