The Community Affairs Chapter meets once a month to discuss subjects of interest or concern that impact our members and their community. In our effort to promote civic betterment, our members attend local Community Board meetings, communicate concerns to local representatives, act as advocates for our members on issues that will affect our neighborhoods, and provide our members with updated information about available community services.
Please join us in the Auditorium at Community House. We will catch up on what’s happened in our neighborhoods during the summer and what we have to look forward to in the coming season. Our usual lively discussion will include the opening and closing of stores and restaurants, crime issues, the scooter and e-bike problems, the future of outdoor dining sheds, shop lifting problems, 5-G towers, the status of the Kew Gardens prison, and congestion pricing. All are welcome to bring up what ever issues are important to you.
This Chapter meets at 10am on the Thursday of the week following the General Meeting in Hof Hall. The dates for the 2023-2024 season are anticipated to be as follows, but please check the monthly calendar as well:
October 12, November 16, December 14, January 18, February 15, March 14, April 18, and May 16.
