The Community Affairs Chapter meets once a month to discuss subjects of interest or concern that impact our members and their community. In an effort to promote civic betterment, our members attend local Community Board meetings, communicate concerns to local representatives, act as advocates for our members on issues that will affect our neighborhoods, and provide our members with updated information about available community services.

Please join us for our monthly meeting in the Auditorium at the Community House. We will catch up on what’s happening in our neighborhoods. Our usual lively discussion will include the opening and closing of stores and restaurants, crime issues, the scooter and e-bike problems, the future of outdoor dining sheds, shop lifting problems, 5-G towers, the status of the Kew Gardens prison, and congestion pricing. All are welcome to bring up what ever issues are important to you.

The Community Affairs Chapter meets at the Community House at 10:00am on Thursday. The dates for the 2024-2025 season are 10/17, 11/14, 12/12, 1/16, 2/13, 3/13, 4/17 and 5/15.

Chairs: Diane Elkan (Chair), Denise De Maria (Co-Chair)
